CBD User Guide
Choosing the right CBD product/s
CBD comes in several different forms. Here we will highlight the pros and cons of each delivery method. Many people may only require one delivery method, whereas others may choose to combine multiple delivery methods. Stimulating your endocannabinoid system (ECS) in more than one way can heighten the effects of CBD. Ingestible CBD, such as CBD oil, supports your entire ECS, and if you have taken it at least an hour (average time required for its digestion) before using another CBD product such as a topical cream, the effectiveness of the cream may be further enhanced.
To find out what our customers are using our products for, we recommend checking out the verified customer reviews at the bottom of each product page.

Oils & Tinctures
These are the most popular choice because they are easily consumed sublingually (under the tongue), which allows for a preliminary release of CBD into the bloodstream, increasing its efficacy. Oils allow for more precise dosing and are perfect for those who have trouble swallowing capsules or softgels. Depending on the body’s response to CBD and the amount one chooses to take, the effects may be felt from 5-90 minutes after being consumed and could last for up to 8 hours.
Capsules, Softgels & Edibles
Preferred by those who find the oil bottles difficult to manage, and who are looking for a regular daily dose. Capsules and softgels do not allow for precise dosing but are discreet for on-the-go users. While edibles are convenient (and the tastiest!), they may allow for more precise dosing. For example; our CBD gummy worms can easily be halved or quartered. As they are solely ingested, effects may be felt from 30-90 minutes after being consumed and could last for up to 8 hours.
Topicals: Creams & Salves
Ideal for those who need targeted relief as they are applied directly to affected areas. The CBD is absorbed through the skin, quickly entering the bloodstream; effects possibly noticed in as few as 10-45 minutes after application. CBD creams and salves may also be used for alleviating skin conditions as they contain alongside CBD, other natural oils and botanicals which work in synergy.
Best for those that seek immediate relief or simply an alternative to smoking. Effects are typically felt within 2-10 minutes as the CBD bypasses the digestive system and travels straight into the bloodstream. Of all delivery methods, vaping provides the most short-lived effects, only lasting up to an hour or so. The vape cartridges we stock also contain terpenes which are essential oils that work in synergy with CBD and are known to affect mood.
Perfect for those looking to create their own CBD products and more experienced users. Suitable for use in cosmetics, topicals and concentrate vaporisers. When used in cosmetics, the effects may be noticed in as few as 10-45 minutes after application. When vaped, dabbed or smoked, effects are typically felt within 2-10 minutes.
Equally great for targeted relief, patches are practical as they can be worn for up to 96 hours. They are a good option for particularly sensitive people who would like to stimulate their ECS only very gently. The patches we stock contain 40mg CBD. This is an average adult daily dose that the patch allows to steadily enter the body over 4 days. It is essentially micro-dosing CBD.
Ideal for those who need direct delivery of a set dose, suppositories are powerful topical applications for internal use. Capsule sized and designed for vaginal or rectal insertion, the CBD bypasses the digestive system, increasing bioavailability. Suppositories could be beneficial for local conditions. Effects may be noticed, when administered vaginally within 30-60 minutes, and when done so rectally within 15-30 minutes. Best for home use as they melt quickly once inserted, so we recommend keeping them in the fridge prior to use and remaining in a horizontal position for at least 15 minutes after insertion.
Combining Delivery Methods
Some people may only require one delivery method, whereas others may choose to combine multiple delivery methods. Stimulating your ECS in more than one way can heighten the effects of CBD. Ingestible CBD, such as CBD oil, supports your entire ECS, and if you have taken it at least an hour (approximate time required for its digestion) before using another CBD product such as a topical cream, the effectiveness of the cream may be further enhanced.
How much CBD to take
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) recommends that adults take no more than 70mg CBD per day unless a doctor agrees more. Our customers take from as little as 8mg to over 100mg per day, depending on what they are taking it for, but the average daily dose ranges from 30-60mg.
If you are taking CBD for the first time it is best to start on a low dose to gauge its effects. We recommend starting with a half serving (0.5ml) per day of one of our regular strength CBD oils (33mg per ml). If you achieve the desired effects with this dose then there is no need to increase it, however, should you not feel anything after a couple of days or simply need more of the effect, then you can slowly increase your dose by increments of 0.25ml each day until you reach your optimum dose - start low and go slow!
When to take CBD
One of our favourite qualities of CBD is that you don’t have to take it every day in order to feel its effects. While taking a consistent daily dose is great for your ECS and general wellbeing, you can easily go without taking CBD for a few days, weeks or even months, and still reap the benefits whenever you next choose to have it.
It is advisable to consume ingestible CBD such as oils, capsules and edibles either just before, with, or directly after food or drink containing healthy fats. For example, just before a meal or with a drink containing milk or a dairy alternative. For relief during the day, your daily dose could be taken first thing in the morning, whereas for its effect on sleep, it could be taken an hour before going to bed. Many will take their daily dose in one go, whereas others may split their dose up throughout the day. Everyone is different, and no two bodies are the same, so do what feels right for you!
